Birds of Same Feather

The amount of writing I do is inversely proportionate to the actual talking I do. I suppose I'm not the only one doing this.

Today, (I mean just now; the whole day I was pretending to study under Farah Nur's Fist of Tebigong) I went through this kid's blog and I find her very interesting. She wrote in classy English and her writings are something I can relate to, and that's what kept me reading through her past posts as well.

I wouldn't link to her, though. It's not that I'm keeping things to myself but if I do let on who she is, you'll probably think I have ulterior motives.

Like courting. Haha.

I have an exam tomorrow, aptly named Ophthalmology End Round Exam. I'm a little freaked out by my ability to still be slacking about despite haven't reach Farahain's state of "mengulang-ngulang".

We're going to have slides, clinical examination and technique on patient and two oral examiners. Please pray for me?

Love.

"Who needs a life anyway?"

I was reading my in-lecture notes when I came across this scribbles. Also I'm trying out the Blogger apps on iPod.

Our lecturer is a nice man well-equipped with vast knowledge on Toxicology. I feel like being dumped with a bucket of sorrow.

The lecture is on General Toxicology, but at this rate, I shudder at the amount of Toxicology we're to study in this barely two months.

Of course, no one cares how I feel, not even myself. This post is to cement the fact that if you don't study, you're not a student. Who needs a life anyway?

Obviously someone was preventing herself from bolting out of the lecture for a much needed cuppa.

Let's see if we can manually use HTML here..

Edited 19 November:
I figured out what is the catch with the brilliant Blogger apps. It doesn't resize the pictures to the nicely-fit 400px.

Three Seasons

Egypt has only two seasons: a mild winter from November to April and a hot summer from May to October.

Summer

Winter
No, we don't have that much snow.
Thus Jr. Pepe's reaction.

Spring
= Exam season

not even a real post, i just don't want this to be misplaced.

also i feel obliged to write something for K's birthday today however unrelated it might be. it's the thought that counts, right?

Today is My Last 20

1) Sleep well

When you slept for two hours that night, of course you will sleep in and rather in-deliberately missed the 10am appointment. Nevertheless, a 12 o'clock one works out either way.

I blame jet-lag.

2) A Limitless brain is fun

You know how they said, an expert is someone who can simplify the most complex of things? Well as I faced the doctor and had her explain the precautions of taking ICS to me, my inside gleed with the feeling of an oral pseudoexaminer.

3) Sensitivity

"Pa, who's that?" referring to the amiable man greeting my dad, mentioning something about being at the hospital for some diabetic drug. I remembered scrutinizing his physical and decided no, he was not diabetic.

They had a rather long talk while mom filled my prescription.

"He's a sales rep. I didn't know him, but he remembers me."

I think mom chortled.

4) Medical students have among the worst patient compliance

Singulair is easy enough; just pop once at night. But when it comes to two puffs daily of inhalation, it takes another level of diligence.

Thus the turbuhaler lays still in my backpack. Sorry mom self, I'll take it tonight, promise.

5) Maples and Transformers on iTunes!

Do you know, Maple Thief edition is on iTunes? It's less exhilarating than the real MMORPG thus less addicting, making it the better choice for me. And Transformers 3 whipped up a game as well with equally amazing graphic and I am smitten!

I am now not using my iPod as a writing aid, I am now playing games instead. Just until I am bored, really. (Favourite things to do nowadays last for a short one day the max. I study myself, the stats are rather accurate.)

6) Study before you take a leap

I have a book on stocks that dad told me to read before I take another step forward. Problem is I haven't even finish the ones I'm reading and there's three lining up and I haven't started yet on the PDF files we have..

Somewhat troublesome, but here's where prioritizing comes in handy.

7) Twitter kills Blogging

Ideas run low and most of them made up of 140 characters, not much for a dignified blog post. Maybe it is for the best; after all if you have nothing matured, age-appropriate nor thought-provoking (in my opinion) things to share, might as well keep it shut till next time.

Meanwhile, use the time to hone an admirable brain and enviable thinking process. And get ready for Ramadhan :D

Still Breathing

Hi, haven't updated this blog in a while now. It is kind of ironic since I usually post when my mind is in shambles, and seeing as its current state is catastrophic, I should be writing like, thrice a day? Huh.

Current song:
Kris Allen - Live Like We're Dying
(because that song was dedicated to me)

Current read:
Basic General Pathology
Essential Medical Microbiology and Immunology Volume I
Applied Pharmacology Part I

Current ringtone:
Jason Mraz - I'm Yours
(because the ukulele opening was both soothing and soft I could easily not answer the phone.)

Drafts are plentiful yet unfinished, that's a glimpse for you of what are running in my thoughts now. I sure wish I still have this knack with words, but we'll see soon.

Oh, been in Cairo for eleven days now, that should be long enough for a settle-down. Fortunately for me 2010 is a rendition of The Series of Unfortunate Events thus not everything goes as well.

I accidentally slept in twice during the course of eleven days, and the first time I dreamed of a glimpse of what I will do when I blow up, and the second was how I missed Kelana Convoy.

To cut to the chase, it means I'm in danger of running away. Faaaar away. It's a pity I don't have a partner in crime, anyone like to join me?

But not to worry, I'd still check in so you would know I'm not dead yet. I'd do that every now and then, hopefully by next post I would have something less cryptic for the public audience to read. Maybe about Chigu or Budu the car my mom sold to my cousin when I was away, we'll see.

p/s: I'm interested in the reader from Plano, Texas. Wellkommen.

Concerto in 3

New BG, again.

So. *stops to admire the background* The new stencil background is cool, don't you think? Greyish and black, somewhat sober with a touch of Victorian. A visual reminder for the author to mature up in terms of content and style.

Also it reminds me of the stencil wedding cake Buddy made in Cake Boss.

Allah save anteaters!

The other day, Andrew Zimmern went to Bangkok and ate fried ant larvae. Now I'm sure everyone pretty much know the hostility I have with ants and the sight of them getting eaten should have smothered me with glee, yet there I was pitying the future-less pests.

Larvae did nothing wrong. It's those pesky ants that are causing world wide problem of insufferable keropok loss and nasty allergic reactions. You should be eating ants (if you're really that out of protein sources) instead of their sinless larvae.

You may argue about 'nipping the problem in the bud' thingy, but isn't it wrong to judge people before they commit the crime? Even thieves are caught in the act.

But of course, that's an exception in Malaysia. We have our own brand of justice which is beyond the capability of honest human brain to perceive.

Reading back, maybe eating the enemy is too much for a punishment.

It's really just a one-time thing.

I have been doing some.. controlled private investigations lately on some people I am fond of but have decided to stop for the sake of not adding 'creep' to my list of astounding credentials.

Some things are just beyond your jurisdiction. It's my fault (in a way) since I terribly sucks at keeping in touch what being self-centered and prefer to admire people behind their back whatsit, but I'll be sure to remember them in my prayers.

Also this blog serves me more than it does to the public, so there should be no problem should I decide to document each encounters here. The public can go read Ustaz Hasrizal or Ustaz Zaharuddin for future enrichment.

As usual, I never really stop. This is probably temporary, in which the activity will resume next year should I come back to Malaysia for the summer.

Epic

I thank all for the prayers and the pat on the back, though I surmised what I needed was a well-placed kick to rub brain cells together, to spark electricity. Yeah.

Also many thanks to everyone for amusing me this couple of days now. Dears, deers, seniors, peers, and juniors alike. I appreciate. Allah bless.

p/s: This is long overdue.

Tag #2 - Saya Sebuah Blog

As a favour to Sufi, I decided to spare 10 minutes to have this done. May she be at peace and forever under His care, ameen.

Kamu kahwin nanti, sila ajak jemput tau.

A pure Choleric tensai.
Sort of saw myself in her.

http://atiqahhanifah.blogspot.com/

Kadangkala cuba menjadi serius, tetapi jarang berjaya.

4)Pernah terasa nak hapuskan blog anda?

Huahaha~

Beliau seorang yang sabar dan mantap. Kebanyakan junior terpaksa melayan kerenah saya, namun si Sufi ini kelihatan gembira sahaja.

Saya sememangnya disukai ramai.

[Teringatkan korang r. Apa khabar budak-budak nakal SMI? Hikmah, Najah etc?]

6)Senaraikan orang yang akan anda TAG.

Ia bergantung kepada kerajinan individu. I'm a bit low in that department.

---

Orait. Kholas.

Sekian.

Kick de Fella!

This cold is getting worse. Now I'm all watery-eyed and my sneezing hitched up to thrice per hour. I need Vitamin C.

While dutifully ransacking the house and winter-cleaning the coffee table, I found this Wajah Pemimpin Rakyat; Foto Jurnal amidst all the dust and sneezes.

I swear, this book was never to be found yesterday, but there it is. I think mom's foster son, Zaim the adventurous PAS supporter gave it to her when he came down earlier this morning.

He walks with a limp, kinda like House minus the flame-decorated walking stick and addiction to Vicodin, after he crashed into a lorry last year on his motorcycle, fracturing his femur and tibula. That's all I know about him.

Amazing, huh? Crashing a lorry. I laughed like mad when I first heard about him.

Back to the photo journal, it was compiled by Kickdefella who went around respected Tok Guru last year, snapping here and there. The photos he shot were impressive enough to keep me ogling and frantically turn the page around.

I see no price tag so I assume it's FOC. The journal was published by Global Media Channel Sdn. Bhd. My, aren't the Kelantanese to be proud or what?
