aka Day 8 – A song to match your mood.
Umair says I’m usually a happy kid and silence from me means a catastrophe is looming. Maybe around her, but with my flipping mood, I’d say I am normally content. I am blessed with so, so much.
This song is content, River by Tatsuya Ishii. I am mostly attracted to his vocal and the feeling he put into it. I heard longing and hope in this song without consulting the translation to its lyrics. And I wasn’t off by much, you can look up what that song meant here. The lyric is to ponder as well.
The point in music for me, is to be able to dissolve the many trains of thought in my head.

Please say 'I do'
aka Day 7 – Your dream wedding.
Last year our maternal grandparents passed away; both when I was in Egypt and during exam period. 2010 was exceptionally hard and I wasn’t tough enough so yeah, it sucked. It changed me somehow, unfortunately for the worse. I have only myself to blame for.
Anyway, back to the topic. Last year's summer we went back to our village in Beruas, Perak. While the rest of us camped at Ateh’s house, me and my mom went down to our grandparents’ house. No one was there, and the emptiness brought mom to tears and me felt hollow inside.

So I told my mom, “When* I get married, can I have it here?” So that the place will be lively again, so that this special home won’t be another vacant empty space. It used to be filled with us running around chasing chubby cousins for a cuddle and aunties preparing meals while uncles smoked (urgh, when will they repent?) over coffee. It was a happy place.
I want it to still be a happy place.
Mom doesn’t share my sentiment though. She said it’ll be more work for her. I still got time to change her mind, no biggies.
* The usage of 'When' is indicative of my confidence that that day will arrive, hehe.

It's a Healthy Two Years
aka Day 5 – A photo of yourself two years ago.
Day 27 – A picture of you last year and now and how have you changed since then?
Other than the fluctuating weight and the irreversible sunburnt by constantly kissing the sun, I don’t think I’ve changed much physically for the past two years. I still wear black slacks for every occasion, still keep the same sweater and never felt the need for baju kurung other than for functions. And still retain that impossible attitude (to an extent).
So to prove this point, I'm attaching a picture of myself more than three years ago.
But mentally, it’s another story. You think differently once you expose yourself to others’ dreams and hopes. Mingling with people of various backgrounds and upbringing leads to exposure to variety of ideas, thus you have to be able to think critically and integrate all those information to benefit yourself greatly, among others.
And the reality is that, I realize how much of an emotional and social retard I am since I couldn’t as easily relate to their common sense. Am still learning to mix with people..

OLC final debate, April 2008 maybe?

Day 6 – A photo of an animal you’d love to keep as a pet.
This is a stray lurking around my current neighbourhood. A female at that, three months ago it gave birth to three healthy black kittens. I haven’t seen her much nowadays thanks to not staying at my place for the past two months.
From her coat, I like to assume that she’s of the Russian Blue breed. They have short-haired blue-gray coat which with care, will reflect a silvery gray. And they are among the intelligent breed, loyal to their human and can relate to their emotions; if my readings have been correct.
That time when I saw her with her litter, I had a good mind to snuck one of them for my own keep, but their black coat cemented the fact that they were not pure Russian Blue. I’d like a pure one, just for sentimental value.
Pets are as great of a commitment as commiting yourself to another human. You can’t just love it and get rid of it when the pet threw a tantrum or you got bored. As Marilyn Monroe said, “If you can’t handle me at my worst, you don’t deserve me at my best.” I believe that applies to pets as well.
Patience and compassion are a must no matter what kind of commitment you are dealing with. May Allah grant us sincerity to ease us in our life journey.

Reasons Why I May Have No Food
aka Day 4 – Your favourite photograph of your best friend(s).

All of those bears belonged to Yaya the 10-year-old grandma except the cube Ultraman (a 15th birthday gift from Kameelah), Naruto (a 16th birthday gift from Fatimah) and the blue Ultraman Gaia (an RM8.90 self-gift for scoring 9A's in PMR).
If you can make out the stack of books at the far back, that's my collection of hardback Harry Potter series.
---
Actually, my favourite photograph of Timah is one taken during my 7th birtday party; a picture of me, her, Kak Dijah, Kak A'isyah and Naim. And of Milah is a picture when we were in 6th grade.
Those were the proofs that I was tallone time ago. Now those giants are pretty much way taller or somewhat of my height, screw you growth hormone!
I am not being selective of the reality I accept, but the preferable word here is vertically-challenged. Thus my Napolean complex.
p/s: This is a 2007 picture, I think. The bears are scattered around our Lundang home because the gang is taking advantage of me beingphysically absent.
Oh. You love the title, don't you? Click here :)

Idea of Fun
Let's just do something fun and informally impersonal, like:
1- Go for a walk and see the world; after all,

2- Sit down and banter
3- Coffee and talk
4- By any tree and read
5- Throw in some punches in between
6- Maybe an ice-cream or two
7- But I'm a carnivore, I need meat
8- You read/study while I play with Bebah
Happy :)
aka Day 3 – Your idea of the perfect first date.

Bad in a Good Way
aka Day 2 – A photo of something you ate today.

I don't like chocolate that much. I brought Mocha 3-in-1 from Malaysia and I resort to it whenever I've maxed my daily Nescafe intake yet still the day hasn't ended. And it tastes funny; the chocolate part of it doesn't go well with my palate.
But not all that is distasteful is bad for you, and not all that is palatable is good for you either. Like that Allah said in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 216.

And just because I don't go well with chocolate, doesn't mean it doesn't go well with the rest of Earthlings. People perceive things differently, that's what makes them amusing :) Let's celebrate uniqueness and our differences with understanding and a smile.
And no, that doesn't mean I don't accept chocolates as gifts. Keep them coming!

Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you.

To not Breed Prejudice
aka Day 1 – A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was.

It's winter now in Egypt but we're all heated up with the recent harassments subjected to our sisters when commuting through certain areas in broad daylight. Among the circulating advices is to be constantly vigilant and acutely aware of your surroundings.
So that you are able to recognize friends from foes, be quick and reflexive should that elbow-jab is needed that instance.
---
The other day I was walking back from Imarah 11 and yes I was alone until a small kid fell in step with me and smilingly asked, "What's your name?"
"My name is Nur," I smiled back most probably due to his petiteness (and yes, politeness). Ammar and I chatted as he walked me around the corner and we parted with the courteous let's-meet-again wave.
Most people will just walk by curious kids like 8-year-old Ammar here and ignore his questions and I understand the safety reason behind it. But when you're paranoid of everything, you'll be prejudiced and will miss out the fun and excitement that usually come along.
Bro Fadel Soliman once told us to "Never generalize and be objective. You may find good allies in some of them". And judging out of suspicion is depriving yourself from good things from happening.
So the neighbours might be a little bit taciturn, but if you approach them they are more than welcoming. We have Amm Mahmoud in front of the imarah, and the baker is protective when one of the girls last year ran for cover into his bakery. Give it a try now, why wait until you need their help then?
---
Another advice is to not walk out alone, and this one brother already warned "Lepas ni aku tengok ada budak perempuan jalan sorang, aku sound..."
Haha, now that's even scarier than the Arabs ^^" A bit difficult for me but I'll try my best.
---
We fortunately live in a caring community. Need more reasons to take better care of yourself? ;)

Tag #4 - Whales are from Heaven
I was merayap at Iema's blog when I came across this meme she tagged me, funny thing that post was dated two years ago.
But there is reason for the saying 'Better late than never,' eh?
1.Do you think you're hot?
Yes thus the withdrawal reflex you have upon contact.
2.Upload your favourite picture of you.

3.Why do you like that pictures?
Fluff overdosed haha it makes me smile like a euphoric fool :D
Alright I'll repent, this one is actually my favourite picture of me.

4.When is the last time you ate pizza?
2nd November 2010. It was Iema's birthday and they made her a Pizza Plus surprise except something came up and I couldn't make it to that party.
But Raja and Hanan did brought home one whole pizza so I had a slice at 9pm, was it? Calorie overdosed thus the hyperactivity at the wrong time of the day XD
5.The last song you listened to?
My ringtone Jason Mraz's I'm Yours, but for the sake of spicing things up I'll answer Lagu Kedamaian by Brothers.
I like yesteryears songs.
6.What are you doing right now beside this?
Funny you should ask, I'm doing what I did in my free time; executing plans to dominate the world through many means ie:
1) Analyze every issue on earth from medicine to dominating economic changes
2) Psychology of H. sapiens
3) Mooting over menial matters
Plus I date and be insufferable.
7.What name would you prefer beside yours?
As my own? Surely that's not what you meant, I am perfectly happy with people calling me Atiqah though on occasions I forgo my caffeine intake I wish they will come to their senses and bother someone else instead.

Tag #2 - Saya Sebuah Blog
As a favour to Sufi, I decided to spare 10 minutes to have this done. May she be at peace and forever under His care, ameen.
Kamu kahwin nanti, silaajak jemput tau.
A pure Choleric tensai.
Sort of saw myself in her.
http://atiqahhanifah.blogspot.com/
Kadangkala cuba menjadi serius, tetapi jarang berjaya.
4)Pernah terasa nak hapuskan blog anda?
Huahaha~
Beliau seorang yang sabar dan mantap. Kebanyakan junior terpaksa melayan kerenah saya, namun si Sufi ini kelihatan gembira sahaja.
Saya sememangnya disukai ramai.
[Teringatkan korang r. Apa khabar budak-budak nakal SMI? Hikmah, Najah etc?]
6)Senaraikan orang yang akan anda TAG.
Ia bergantung kepada kerajinan individu. I'm a bit low in that department.
---
Orait. Kholas.
Sekian.

Tag #3 - Diligent Monkey
Revised on 12th September 2010 for the sake of maturity :)
When you didn't channel your diligency to the right place, this is what happens.
To Atiqah, hopefully you've had enough.
Okay monkey, now go study!
Would you shave your head if a family member asked you to because they had cancer?
- If it will be of any moral help, I will.
What would you do if the doctor told you that you were pregnant?
- I suppose that's my ticket to bully my husband into fixing me a strawberry and cantaloupe cocktail at 2 in the morning. Happy days!~
Did the one person who hurt you the most in your life apologize?
- I have no idea. I forgot them already.
Are you good at hiding your feelings?
- When I get real pissed, I'd get real quiet. Other than that, I don't think I'm half that bad.
Are you wasting your time on someone?
- I did around four hours ago, but it was my fault for choosing to stick with them. In terms of romance, the answer is no. I'm too smart for that.
Explain the last time you threw up:
- One morning in INTEC. I realized I had so much on my plate and instantly threw up at the thought.
Last thing that made you cry:
- Realizing I can no longer depend on certain others.
Do you have a bad temper?
- With a very short fuse.
Do you think you'll be married in 10 years?
- 10 years?? Why should I wait that long??
How many funerals have you been to in your lifetime?
- It should have been four, but I missed the last three.
How often do you think about suicide?
- Never.
What is your deepest fear?
- If I tell you, I will be blackmailed with it.
Do you REALLY love all your family?
- Yes. Inclusive of all the defect.
What do you want to believe in?
- That I will never go through my deepest fear.
Do you have a secret crush on someone?
- Right now, no. I figured out he is better off with someone else.
Are you proud of who you are?
- Oh yeah!~
Do you feel alone even in crowded rooms?
- Sometimes. Solitary is tranquiling.
What is the worst thing a person could do to you and still be forgiven?
- I wouldn't know. You have to try me.
You're dying in 10 seconds, what are your last words to your best friend?
- [To FCR] You know I love you.
...to your worst enemy?
- Let's meet again, shall we? I sort of enjoy pissing you off.
Do you care if people hate you?
- Nope. But it will be helpful if I know why. I could improve myself if I want to.
Freedom or safety?
- Freedom, baby!~
Think of a random person, and give them a message here, no names:
- Get. A. Haircut.
Has a song ever made you cry?
- Nehi.
A book ever made you cry?
- I curse J. K. Rowling for this.
Is the world crumbling to pieces?
- It is destined to.
Name on moment where you couldn't control your rage:
- When undeserving people were condemned.
When you didn't channel your diligency to the right place, this is what happens.

Tag #1 - Books and Learning
I have been tagged. With personal questions. Man, I was like, why would people want to know me? I am far from being interesting.
But then again, I have nothing to declare but my popularity.
So here goes. Fatima, this is for you.
Since marks were not given, I assume each question carries one mark for one answer. I shall not elaborate. Ha. Ha.
So there you have it. Now where's my prize?
