20 May: INTEC Registration Day

Currently at Pak Long's house. Watched the latest episode of Chi's Sweet Home. In good mood :)

Registration day at INTEC was quite efficient and jiffy. We arrived at 8-ish and were ushered inside the compound by the ever helpful guards and seniors acting as facilitators or PM as they call themselves.

PM as in Pembantu Mahasiswa.

They gave us this convenient checklist of what I'm supposed to do throughout the day's process.

We parked our Toyota Innova and walked towards the Dewan Serbaguna for the registration. Parents were to wait outside under the shade of canopy with complementary water and bread.

I registered myself and got the key for my apartment to be shared with three others. Kak Hidayah ushered me towards Block 2 and I walked myself up to the third floor where I will reside in room 302 for the next three months.

As the first occupant around, I was entitled for furniture number 1 and I checked around for any flaws. The apartment was clean, laid with tikar getah, water ran smoothly out of every available pipe and the sockets worked perfectly.

Not bad.

I fetched my parents and we laid out my stuff as the second occupant came in.

It was Tasnim.

She just gotta stick around, does she? We were in the same elementary school, same secondary, same college, even the same room!

Oh well. At least I get to bully her.

It was 9.30 and the JPA officers have just arrived. Their grateful scholars had to go meet them to hand in all documents and agreements.

Three counters were opened for scholars for Korea-bound, Middle East-bound and Russia-bound.

The scholars for MEP were the most plentiful of all. 158 all in all.

Afterwards, we were taken by bus towards the nearest Bank Islam branch to pay our registration fees. We brought along our payment slip printed out from INTEC's website.

Settle that and we're free as a bird until 3.30 in the afternoon. Taklimat Penempatan Kolej.

Good food [with humongous serving] was served for us during this first week, which was called Minggu Mesra Siswa. It's orientation minus ragging and aerobic and loaded with fun.

I shall be discreet on the event of MMS. Wouldn't want to spoil the surprise for future students, now, would we? *winks*

p/s:
This year is the first time KEMENTAH send theirs boys for preparation in INTEC to do medicine in the land of Putin. I'm flattered.

MTD... Marching... Impossibly shiny shoes...

I'd be dead out of dehydration.

p/s 2:
Along wrote a blog post on me. So does Kak Raja.

Atiqah is famous. It's common knowledge, people.

*inhales. Brushes aside that aching feeling of missing him and smirks for the moment.*

19 May: His Sicky Day

On the highway towards Shah Alam. Fatimah called.

I've bad news. Your beloved hubby is in my mom's clinic now.

Who? Oh. What?

I could hardly recognize him. He look feverish.

Can you talk to him?

His father has been hugging him since he got here. He hasn't seen my mom yet.

Oh. If you do get the chance, please send him my regard and let him know I wish him a speedy recovery.

Okay.

Thanks Fatimah.

Sure.

p/s: Gotta run!

Closure, Perhaps?

Parked the car outside school. Saw his car coming up. He exited with that haish pose of him.

The shook of the head, the sigh, the small grin and that fidgeting attitude.

I carved a small smile.

Entered the school and saw Haikal exiting. "Teacher! Raja wanted to give you a present!"

"Yes, Haikal, that's what I'm here for." I grinned. "And to meet you guys."

He walked on backwards and accompanied me to the class.

The banats saw me and rushed over. The salamed my hands and chatters began.

I side-stepped into the class and saw what usually happen in class. Hazim was wrestling with Haiqal as he chatted up with me.

Multi-tasker.

"Nice decorations you guys have here. Won the trophy yet?"

"Not yet." Hazim continued wrestling.

Raimi was facing me, yet his eyes were on Majdi and Aqil as the three mousketeers talked.

"Hey Raimi." No reaction. "How come you didn't come to my house?"

"He didn't get the card." Raja replied as he hand over the present Kak Raja gave me. I thanked him profusely, digging out what was inside.

"Teacher, you have Raimi's number?" Raja suddenly piped out.

"Huh?"

Hazim repeated the question. I glanced at our silent prefect. "I don't. Why?"

They disregarded my question. Oh well. Kids have the attention span of a goldfish, don't they? They only remember who feeds them; give and take.

"Hazim, send my regards to others."

"Don't want to." Same old answers. I smiled. Smart-brat kids express the opposite of what they really think, don't they?

I exited the class as they all shuffle pass for their morning line-ups. Raimi was nearby, not talking.

"Raimi," He remained his grin yet he faced sideways. "Send my regards to Ikbal."

Was that a "Ha." and a nod?

I grinned. "See you guys around."

Deliberate non-responsive. He is so easy to read. That's the Raimi I know for approximately 50 days.

He miss me. Kak Raja confirmed that on Friday.

But it would be much better had he say it.

That reminds me of a quote. "Women are like the cops. They could have all the evidents in the world, but they still want the confession."

*smirks*

I'll miss them, I know I would. Maybe even more than I miss my family. I can always call home, but how do you contact a group of Year 3 kids?

Aha! Birthday cards!

p/s: I only remember a boy who's birthdate was three days before mine. And Ikbal was born in early March if I'm not mistaken.

Urgh. I'm hopeless.

Who are You?

Let's do Kameelah's tag while we're at it, shall we?

Assalamualaikum wbt. Hi. My name is Nur Atiqah. Pak Cik Noordin Zainal Abidin named me and my parents gave their consent because, according to mom, "The name sounds nice."

I was supposed to be named Nur Hana Akmal. Imagine that.

I usually shorten my name to Atiqah Hanifah, though I go by Atiqah Jamaludin when I studied in West End State School, Brisbane.

Atiqah means the chosen, the honourable. I like my name and am proud of it.

Nur: Being called this is not that favourable, but it's part of the package. So far, only one person ever call me this. The driving instructor, Cikgu Nik Mohammad.

Lucky guy.

Atiqah: By most of the world population.

Tiqah: People at comfort level.

Iqah: Cikgu Ashikin, another driving instructor and this female chatting buddy. It's awkward.

Ika: Only family get away with calling me this. Hey, if I treat everyone the same, who will I treat special?

Ikah: My auntie Chik Na.

Tiqah-kun: Fayyadh Azmi and Suad Saaban.

Kakak/Kak: My beloved juniors at SMI and SRI. Even current 4 Ikhlas kids call me kak, instead of the supposedly teacher.

Kids. Their adorableness gets them off my deadly hook.

Kak Tiqah: Juniors.

Kak Tiq: Najwa of Amalin Aisya School.

Kak Rue: Amirah Nik Mazian only.

Kak Ngah: My mom and siblings, plus several banats of Amirah's batch. Those include little Munirah and mischievous Sakinah.

I haven't seen those two for a while. Man, gotta catch up.

Angah: Hakim only.

Teacher: My deerest adik-adik at SRI!

Muallimah: My deerest adik-adik at SRI, too!

Ibu palsu: Laugh, people. Raimi once referred to me using this. I recalled a post on this event.

Cikgu: My aunts and uncles as a result of me taking up teaching.

Doctor: My aunts and uncles as a result of me furthering in medicine.

Haru/Kaoru/Ruriko: A series of internet encounters.

Rue: Rahim Nik Mazian only. I was RueMitsui in Maple Story.

Mitsui: Ah. Vintage. Hisashi Mitsui of the infamous Slam Dunk by Takahiko Inoue is my all-time favourite character. He's a deviously handsome guy struggling with his past.

Am I? Supposedly not.

Master of three-point though his lack of stamina after his rebellious days kept him weaken during games. But he's a man of strong will.

So am I.

Mits: Milah only.

Miss Mitsui: Fayyadh Azmi only.

Quite a list we have here. Very well. I take my bow now, wishing everyone a happy days ahead.

Take care, people.

Majlis Kesyukuran

There was a majlis kesyukuran today at PT 715. The event commenced after solat Jumaat until just now, with the departure of the last guest Ustaz Abdul Rashid.

Out of all my adik-adik murid, only Harith of 3 Amanah and Firdaus [Raja] and Solihin of 3 Sabar showed up.

"Firdaus, where's the others?"

"Ikbal, Majdi and Atiq wanted to come. Hazim wanted, too, but the card ran out."

"Oh man. Where's Raimi?"

"He said he wanted to come, but his brother got tennis training."

"Nice excuse."

"Haha."

"What's up with him, anyway? I came down yesterday and he went, Hey Ikbal. Let's bash her up."

"He's mad at you."

"Eh?" Did I took his lollipop away?

"By the way, he said he wanted to come over to my house at 4. To finish his homework."

"Where?"

"My house."

"He could come to yours, but can't to mine?!"

"Apparently."

"I am so biting his head off. We didn't even live that far away!"

"He always come over for homework. Once he went to Hazim's..."

"Do send my regards to him."

"Okay."

"See you around, Firdaus."

"See you around, teacher."

They gave me RM 720. I feel like crying.

Pre-INTEC

Official letter from JPA: 13rd May 2008

Registration date at INTEC, UiTM: 20th May 2008

Reaction: Wow.

No hitches so far. Except for this cabutan sijil lahir, whatever that is. Tasnim said you can only get yours thrice in your life.

Sounds imperial. Problem is, I'm KL-born. I applied at JPN Kelantan and they said there was a minimum of 2 weeks to get my record from the capital.

If I apply for mine in KL, it'll be a jiffy and done within a day.

Today is Friday. Saturday and Sunday is weekend.

Monday is Wesak Day.

Tuesday is Registration Day.

I've plan, I always have. Let's pray everything turn out okay.

*sigh*

There's a lot to be verbalized to a lot of people.

I just don't know how to say it.

Or what to say, for all that matter.

You know why babies cry? Because they wanted to say something, but they didn't know how. And they cry.

JPA Result

JPA result is out. Alhamdulillah, I am gratefully one of the scholars.

Details of it I yet to know. I got what I've been praying for; a chance to further my studies in medicine in Egypt.

I haven't mention my dad was also a JPA scholar; the first batch they send to Baghdad for medicine. Which was why he felt extra bad when U.S.A intruded the land. During his time, the cream of the cream was sent there.

p/s:
I miss my former job. It sucks so bad because I don't know for what reason I miss it, neither do I have the prerogative to do so.

Enter Kak Atiqah

I felt like walking, so I parked Budu a far distance away from the school.

And I walked. Not much talking was done, since I was hardly greeted. Except by Zharfan. He asked of my specs. [I came to reunion spec-less since it pulled a Houdini. Later it was found with fresh scratch under the bed.]

Entered the school. The prefects had a mix of greeting for me. Some went muallimah, some went kakak.

And they creatively came up with a new one. Muallikak.

Dude.

I laughingly told them to drop it off. After a hurried discussion among those standard 6 female prefects, they settled for kak.

So I'm Kak Tiqah now.

I walked inside and searched for Mustaqim. I need to give him back his diary keys.

I ceased Luqman in his steps and asked of him to pass it to Mustaqim.

Luqman told me Mustaqim was absent.

I told him to give it tomorrow.

He asked why I kept the keys for a long time; they had to force open the book.

I laughed and stated my short attention span.

Ustaz Sidek saw me and we chatted.

I found Yaya and we walked towards the car.

Yaya wanted to buy drinks, so I took her across the road.

I carried her bag. Man, was it heavy. I checked inside, but no sign of stones.

"Muallimah! Hey, it's muallimah!"

I turned around. The voice was familiar. It was Raimi in his class, gesturing wildly at me while acknowledging Hazim of my presence.

I smirked.

Raimi stared mischievously and glanced at Yaya and her drinks. I felt the need to ask him to tidy up his tie.

I decided against it. It's off school hour. He's cute the way he is.

They told me of their Malay comprehension paper mark. Hilman got 100%.

I congratulated him profusely.

I asked Raimi of his marks. He grinned and turned away from me. I could hear his grin as he replied somewhat sheepishly, "I got 100%, too."

"Great. I'll be going now, see you guys around."

I waved.

Luqman came up and asked tentatively, "What was muallimah's name again?"

"It's Atiqah." I laughed. "Forgotten already?"

Hafiz was behind me, his genuine smile adhered on his face. "Hi Muallimah Atiqah."

"Assalamualaikum, Hafiz."

A smile and we walked away.

Chi's Sweet Home

Am I cute?

Sure I am.

Hi, my name is Chi. I live with Youhei, Okaasan and Otousan in an apartment with loads of fun stuffs!

Youhei plays with me everyday and sometimes we pee at the same time. Okaasan prepares my favorite milk and Otousan taught me a lot of things, including using the computer!

She and Otousan once gave me my bath. It was scary! I nearly died!

I am clever, I know how to pee properly.

I'm supposed to go find my Mama, but I'm always distracted by other fun stuff. Sometimes I dream of Mama, but Otousan will come and gently rub my back.

Like Mama always do, but with her tongue instead.

I miss Mama. *sits sappily*

*a butterfly flutters by behind the curtain*

Oh? Eh? What's that? He hides! Come out, come out!

*off chasing butterfly*

Watch Chi's Sweet Home, onegai!

Pantas!

Baru balik dari SRI. Reunion.

Kacau Raimi masa dia lunch tadi. Padan muka. Dia perasan dia kacak.

Saya tak sampai hati nak kata Ikbal lagi kacak dari dia.

Harus siapkan teks ucapan untuk Fatin Suhana bagi pertandingan pidato kategori Bahasa Inggeris.

Amat menyerabutkan. My English is at a kindergarten level, how am I to write for a Standard 6 student?

Nyesal kacau Raimi tadi. Dia start dulu tapi.

Sakit perut sebab makan nasi for breakfast. Biasanya diet.

Pukul 2 harus hantar teks ucapan. Masa ke SRI untuk ambil adik. Sempat? Insya Allah. Pasti.

Pukul 3 harus berada di SMI. Usrah. Harus handle banat Form 2 and 3.

Telipot ke Binjai. Sempat? Pasti.

Updated later in the evening:

Ke SRI dan Hazim tegur saya kerana terburu-buru.

Musfirah menghulurkan bunga mawar plastik dan sapu tangan hijau yang dibalut kemas. "Selamat Hari Guru!"

Saya tersenyum dan mengucapkan terima kasih. Lambat lagi la, dik.

Syafiq menegur, "Cantik Budu teacher."

Saya tertawa. Kan bagus kalau Ikbal dengar. "Biasa la~"

Early Teacher's Day

"Have you been to your room?" My little sister Yaya asked.

"Not yet." I glanced inquiringly. "What's up?"

She stared at me in silence and resumed her walking. Weird, but I continued watching the news.

Moments later, I peeped inside my room. Everything was messy, as always.

Something alien was on my dresser-top. I picked up the piece of paper clearly torn out of her school exercise book and read.

Kepada kak ngah,

yaya nak bagi sesuatu ni, untuk guru tapi walaupun kamu bukan cikgu sekolah tapi kamu guru dekat rumah yaya harap kamu anak papa mama yang soleh yaya berazam jadi macam kak ngah, salam

I <3 Teacher
Atiqah :D

From: Yaya,
to: kak ngah
Weighting the paper was this gift I knew she must have bought from the school library.

How sweet, I smiled.

I glanced at her. "Thanks, Yaya."

She remained oddly passive. Something must had bugged her tonight.

"You forgot your fullstops." I remarked jokingly.

"Let it be." She replied.

Rejuvenated Anew

Went to KB Mall today in search for a new and matured-looking purse. My current one is Doraemon-decorated.

I'm a young adult now, I have to act my age.

Passed in front of McDonald's and Hakim pulled me inside, gesturing wildly at the free Happy Meal toys of Ben 10. Dude.

The hunt was halted while I wait for the boy to finish his French fries in between playing with Diamondhead figure.

As I readied myself to leave, Hakim begged for another one. The cashier chuckled. I sighed.

I bought him another set of Happy Meal with the complementary Fourarms figure. I am so kind I could cry.

Mama wanted me to pick up the kids. An obedient daughter I am, I obliged. Besides, I'd stand for any excuse to go to SRI or SMI.

We went there straight after shopping and arrived at SRI around 1.30 p.m. Yaya and Hazim will be out by 2.15. So we settled ourselves under the waqaf, minding our own business.

Hakim continued playing with his newly-acquired toys, bumping them intentionally on my head.

I slowly ate Hakim's Happy Meal, watching the people come and go. Chatted with any passing muallimahs.

1.45, the girls of 3 Amanah saw me and exclaimed happily. "Teacher!"

And we talked. Laughed. I shooed them back to class.

Boys of standard 5 came to the waqaf to place their bags. We chatted and I handed them the unfinished fries.

2.15 came. I braced myself for anything. Sure enough, 3 Sabar girls came and crowded around me.

Hakim became silent.

3 Amanah boys came and we idle talked.

Raimi and Hussain came from behind. He sounded happy and talked away on the Malay exam that morning.

"Teacher, ni anak teacher?" He grinned.

"Adik teacher la!"

He chuckled and sat besides Hakim.

"Adik, nak satu." He gestured his hand out for one of Hakim's Ben 10 figure. Hakim stared at him weirdly.

"Hakim, bagi la ke Abang Raimi satu." I gazed at Hakim. Raimi stood and playfully hid behind Hussain, hiding his head in a crying pose.

"Tengok, sian Abang Raimi nangis."

The crowd laughed. Hakim held to his toys stubbornly.

Hussain tackling Raimi to the ground.

The sweet prefect stayed with us until Yaya came and demanded we head home. We walked towards Budu.

He followed and waited alongside Yaya and Hazim as they waited for me to unlock the vintage rig.

I just got myself a new little brother.

p/s:

I did bought a new purse. Sembonia. RM130. Cool. And for the record, Raimi is the youngest of 6.

Hit Hard

I sent Yaya and Hazim to school.

Drop by the office to settle May's fee.

Discussed with Muallimah Rushaida on Farid's health record book.

Reminded by Muallimah Rosmani on the unfinished English speech.

Bought Yaya her nasi ayam.

Decided against bothering the prefects and sent it to her class.

Chatted with Muallimah Zainab, Mariah Ibrahim, Zaharah and Ustaz Shahran.

Budu was parked outside the school. Ikbal called out.

Chatted a bit with him and Sadiq.

Saw Raimi prancing in front of the whiteboard.

Got in the car. Heard Ikbal said something.

Must be my awful hearing.

Bought two chickens from the Muttaqin Ayam Proses.

Parked the car under the porch.

P gear, hand brake applied.

Stared out into the garden.

Realization hit me.

Hard.

Some liquid clouded my vision.

Wah!

Hari Terakhir Aku

Waktu balik.

Aku sibuk menyusun kertas ujian. Penuh teliti. Penuh kasih.

Aku harap mereka dapat jawab dengan terbaik esok.

3.15 petang, aku berlari keluar pejabat. Adik-adik aku marah sebab mereka terpaksa balik lambat.

Aku tersengih.

Hari ni hari last.

Aku rasa sedih. Sedikit. Tidak mengapa. Akan bertemu lagi, insyaAllah.

Nanti aku hantar kad raya.

Dan kad hari jadi.

UPU Result and Job Prospective

UPU result is out.

I got my first choice; Medicine at University Sains Islam Malaysia*sujud syukur*

Along wanted me to study there, since the old geezer is reading dentistry there. Over-protective bear.

The official offer letter will be out on the 5th, and I've to confirm my yes by 15th May.

I'm still on the look out for the JPA result, though. Some say by 12th, let's just wait and see.

My posting at SRI Aman will expire by the semester holiday [23 May - 7 June] and I've to once again say "See you guys again." *choked with crocodile tears*

Muallimah Rushaida and Muallimah Mariah enlightened me on the Tamrin Pengawas to be held during the holls and I was invited. *jumps*

Lest it didn't clash with my preparation for university. But I so wanted to go!

Mom seems wary of it and dad told me to put my priority straight. But I so wanted to go!

Let's just wait for the official offer letter first. In the mean time, I've to go around informing my kipas-susah-mati and teachers of my UPU result.

Thank you, everyone, for the time to read and the infinite supports and doas given.

p/s: Tamrin Pengawas will be held as a day-and-night trip to Penang, last check. Bus trip with kids! Lovely!

p/s 2: Checked USIM's academic calender. Registration for the 08/09 Tamhidi is on 31st May. Please, I wanna go to Tamrin Pengawas! *solat hajat*
