Abang Sadiq Sigaraga picked us at the Zoo Negara entrance around 3pm, hauling us through the edgy ride up Kampung Kemensah. We passed TV3 crew van coming down the hill and Abang Sadiq told us they had just finished shooting an episode for Remaja Extreme.
That tells you how famous this place is.
According to Abang Mas the owner, he situated
ATV Adventure Park at Kemensah as this is the closest forest to KL and I agree it is a brilliant spot to run away from the city every weekend or so. Apart from earning few RMs for himself, he also intended to help the locals by recruiting them as the center's guide.
First off after paying RM90 per head and signing a consent form, they let us choose our ATV and practiced circuling the course around the compound for 4-5 times. Soon after, we lined up like the good lambs we are and headed towards the tiered waterfall Kemensah is famous for.

Originally, we planned to enjoy picnicking by the waterfall and splash around without wetting ourselves head to toe, but then the rain fall in buckets and planned something else.
We ate with our clothes already wet. Abang Halim called us to clean up and cmon.
The rain fall heavier with the thunder twice or was it thrice? It was so close even the guide flinched in surprise. I then understood the tragedy of the lone biker with no raincoat nor a place to shade in the thundering rain.
We were soaked to the bone! My shoes were damming water. Plus it was the first day of the month thus, enough said. Dark clouds were practically hovering over my head.
The trip down was slippery and the water puddles made some of us (namely M and N) crazy with adrenaline in the form of speeding up prior to a puddle. Abang Sadiq laughed, mockingly approving.
The bad side of slippery was that, when your deadly grip was sort of weak on the brake, sliding down the steep will definitely spike up the accident factor. I slided, and unable to stop despite gripping the brake for dear life, yelled out Nisa's name before my ATV slammed into hers.
Thank God the tires were so big and was the point of contact so all the forces were absorbed. Fuhh, though the guides did shout back a warning to keep your distance!
And when the guide told you not to take the foot off the foot-rest, LISTEN TO HIM! But in my defence, reflex took control when my ATV tilted and my feet just acted on its own, kind in the intention of stabling the 200-kg running vehicle on the side bank.
It was unnecessary, since the ATV was build to be stable regardless. The monster crushed my leg to the bank, resulting in a frightening bruise of epic proportion. 10cm x 7cm T-T
I was scared of DVT impacting my ventricles or lungs rendering me dead. Oh the exaggeration!
Ironically, the rain stopped once we arrived at the base camp. We dried up and the owner Abang Mas hitched us a ride in his pick-up truck back down to the entrance of Zoo Negara. He was asking the girls about Egypt and so on while I pressed my handphone as close to my ear as possible to make out the words of Miss JPA detailing on my BTN call for the day after I get back to Kelantan!
Depressing end to a fun and adventurous day actually, but you can't always have all the cake to yourself.
p/s: I actually wrote this on 20th Mac and you know what, remnants of the bruise is still there! TT_TT
